Oprah takes over the other airwaves

No wonder she helped Rachel Ray create another TV show. Oprah has her own projects in the works. The talk show queen launched her own channel, Oprah and Friends, on Monday morning on XM Satellite Radio, with shows hosted by her and a collection of popular personalities from her television show, including her best friend, Gayle King, fitness expert Bob Greene and renowned poet Maya Angelou. According to the AP, the station will broadcast 24 hours day, with highlights of the shows replayed every weekend.

Guests set for the first few weeks of programming include actresses Annette Bening and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, rocker Jon Bon Jovi, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman and real estate mogul Donald Trump. Winfrey will co-host a show with King, dubbed "The Oprah and Gayle Show," on which they discuss the latest news and gossip. The two have known each other for 30 years. Other shows will focus on finance, style, relationships and spiritual wisdom.

Oprah's longtime boo Steadman Graham will reportedly be one of the station's first guests, appearing on the initial "Gayle King Show," a solo program.

Bring back Commander and Chief, bloggers say

FreshDames website for female celebrities has launched a sister site for the main purpose of rallying people to petition ABC to bring back Commander in Chief.
Throughout the nation and in the far reaches of the world, television viewers were buzzing about the latest ABC drama hit show, Commander in Chief. For months leading up to the show's debut, previews and teasers were being aired at all hours, literally daring viewers to try and stop from watching this ground-breaking show. This wasn't your run-of-the-mill hype for a new show either, with a lead cast of award-winning actresses and actors. Commander in Chief had all the makings for a great show with a gripping plot. Nearly 90 years after women won the right to vote in the United States, now a women was about to become the leader of the free-world and lead the nation. And like any good show with a great cast led by a great leading actress (Geena Davis), there was a great actor (Donald Sutherland) to add conflict and even controversy.

Internet users can cast a vote, sign the petition, and demand that ABC bring back Commander in Chief.

Sambora Love Triangle Gets More Complicated

If you weren’t already tired of the Laguna Beach drama that Denise Richards, Heather Locklear, and Richie Sambora have brought to the Jersey Shore - you will be now!  “Rock Star” Richie Sambora recently sent Locklear a $500 bouquet of roses in an attempt to save their marriage, according to a report in Life & Style Weekly to be published this week.  Sambora, who can’t seem to make up his mind about which hot mama he wants more, might be a day late and a bloom short.  I’m sorry Richie, but You Give Love a Bad Name!

Bending it gets a little harder everyday

World Cup Watch: Portugal will go on to the semi-finals with either Brazil or France after defeating England 3-1 on penalties following a last eight clash that ended goalless in Gelsenkirchen.Poor David Beckham. He took it a little hard and actually resigned as England caption, causing people in the know to begin speculating about just how much money he’ll lose from his endorsements with Gillette, Adidas and Pepsi. Poor Becks. At least he still has a smoking wife, right?

David Beckham is congratulated by teammate Ashley Cole after his 60th-minute free kick found the back of the Ecuador net yesterday, advancing Englandto the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Meanwhile wife Victoria Beckham only eats pineapple and sushi and crazy-juice. Huh?

Reese fires back at Star with a lawsuit

Reese Withersoon has filed a suit against Star Magazine and its parent company for alleging she was pregnant and hiding it from the producers of her upcoming projects. According to reports, the court papers state: "The true facts are that [Witherspoon] is not pregnant, does not have a 'baby bump' and has not otherwise gained weight such that she has had to resort to wearing 'Empire-waist dresses', 'baggy clothing' or an 'old-fashioned 1920s style bathing suit'," as Star had allegedly implied in the story. Way to stick it to the man. Hint to Star: If you want to continue to make up stories, stick a big disclaimer on your story. People will still buy it and you won't get sued. Or just start a blog.
