Former Seinfeld cast member Julia Louis Dreyfus was the lady of Sunday night, winning the coveted, and best actress in a comedy Emmy for her role in the hilarious New Adventures of Old Christine show. It was Julia's second golden trophey, she had won for best supporting actress for Seinfeld. Referring to the supposed curse that has struck Seinfeld actors whose subsequent works have largely flopped, Ms. Louis-Dreyfus said, “I’m not somebody who really believes in curses, but curse this, baby.”
Sunday night was a big big night for all the small screening actors and actresses in La La Land, as it was the Primetime Emmys, which honored individual achievements in the medium. It seems some of the obvious choices won the major categories ( 24 for best drama, The Office for best comedy), while some of the less obvious choices were picked for the best actor and actress categories (Julia Louis-Dreyfus grabbed a win for her new show The New Adventures of Old Christine and Tony Shalhoub was picked for his role as Monk).
