Mel Gibson's kids are meanies too

Mel Gibson's drunken driving arrest and subsequent anti-Semitic tirade last week hasn’t the first incident to cause neighborhood problems for the "Melibu” household.
According to the New York Post, Gibson and his wife, Robyn, let some of their seven children roam the tiny beach suburb north of Los Angeles unsupervised, and the kids "terrorize" the neighborhood, according to two residents.
One local tells us that Gibson's kids, a daughter, 26, and six sons ranging in age from 7 to 24, "are the holy terrors of Malibu. They do whatever they want."
According to one story repeated by neighbors, Gibson's high-school sons tried to buy two kayaks from a surf shop and demanded the store put them on credit. When told the family didn't have an account there, a source says, "They got very angry and started shouting, 'Don't you know who we are?' " (Staffers at Zuma Jay's and the Malibu Surf Shack, the two kayak stores in Malibu, say they don't recall such an incident.)

Actor, director and producer Mel Gibson is in trouble, and that's trouble with a captiol "T." He was arrested early on Friday morning on suspicion of DUI. He reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .12, while the legal limt is .08. He was released on $5,000 bail. The really juicy news popped up later in the weekend, when TMZ reported that police report from the arrest was doctored and the real release indicates the Passion of the Christ creator "hurled religious epithets" at the officers that arrested him. TMZ says the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department had the initial report doctored to keep the real story under wraps.

Mel quickly reponded, telling The Insider:

"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said, and I apologize to anyone who I have offended." photo source
