'Superman' star is happy to be a gay icon

Superman returns hottie Brandon Routh says he’s happy that his superhero character is a gay icon and he wants everyone to love Superman's "spirit."
Some people say the red-tight-clad hero’s gay-friendly status has increased with the new installment, because director Bryan Singer is openly homosexual.

Routh, who himself is not gay, says there’s enough of Superman for everyone, regardless of sex, race and sexuality.
