The Lovefest Continues For TomKat!

And now for the pictures...you know you want to look! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are officially husband and wife, PEOPLE reports on its 24/7 TomKat Wedding Blog. The couple exchanged vows, and white gold Cartier diamond rings, in front of 150 guests at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano, Italy. "The wedding was absolutely beautiful," said a guest. The reception was complete with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a multi-course meal -- and don't forget that five-tier white chocolate cake, decorated with marzipan roses and studded with white chocolate chips. TomKat left Rome early this morning, sources say, for their glorious honeymoon in the Maldives, a group of islands southwest of India. Brace Yourself: THE Wedding Is Here!

I'll be the first to admit: Part of me thought this say would never come. But Katie's bought the dress, the lingerie and she and Tom Cruise have arrived in Italy for what is sure to be the crowning moment in the TomKat love fest. The couple, with baby Suri in tow, are set to wed Saturday at Odescalchi Castle, a 15th-century fortress in the lakeside Italian city Bracciano, PEOPLE reports. The pair will arrive at the castle sometime Saturday morning and return to Rome after the ceremony, said Bracciano mayor Patrizia Riccioni. Riccioni gave the lovebirds a small silver sculpture of the castle as a gift, with a note reading: "A sincere note in sign of gratitude from the city of Bracciano, for having chosen it as the place where to crown your dream of love." And what to do about the $50,000 fee to use the castle? Don't worry, Riccioni has waived it as a sign of thanks to TomKat for bringing such attention to the small city. Oh, and don't forget about the couple's honorary citizenship "because they have brought so much to our little village." Is this a wedding or the Second Coming? The TomKat Will Be One -- FINALLY!!

The wait is finally over! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are set for what is sure to be a wedding extravaganza Nov. 18 in Italy, where they went public as a couple in 2005, PEOPLE reports. Tommy told Good Housekeeping in June that he wanted to wait to have the wedding until Suri was born so she could be at the ceremoy. "In many ways," he added, "we feel like we already are married. I know I'm with the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. So the wedding – that's just the party." Cruise's rep said that famed designer Giorgio Armani will design Holmes's gown. Is this a hoax to divert the media or the real thing? Only time will tell, but here's a little trip down memory lane...

 

Katie's Got The Dress!

Another item has been checked off Katie Holmes' It-Will-Happen-Soon wedding checklist, US Weekly reports. As she made her way out of a limo with Victoria Beckham at an Yves Saint Laurent fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, Holmes made this startling statement: “I’ve already chosen my wedding dress.” What else did she have to say? Not much, which of course only fuels the speculation even more. Who is the designer of choice for the dress? Stylists have guessed everything from Vera Wang to Armani. I'm not a stylist, but I picture Ms. Katie in something classic and chic...a flowing white gown with an assortment of roses for a bouquet (see picture #2). But just makes sure Tom approves it first, OK?

Suri Gets The Job Done

The kid's a hit. Suri Cruise is a mere 6 months old, and already, she's saving papa Tom's career. Thanks to the family album in the new Vanity Fair, the Web site saw a record 4.3 million page views in a single day. Talk about speed on the Information Superhighway! This just confirms my suspicion that Mr. Cruise used the magazine cover as a PR move. If Suri has this much pressure as an infant, I'd hate to be her when she actually has responsibilities! TomKat will marry...soon

If predictions are correct, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise could be walking down the aisle any day now. A gorgeous, glowing Holmes is all smiles on the cover of this week's US Weekly. “All I really know is that the wedding is soon! They will surprise us all,” said Andrea Bernholtz, Holmes friend and president of the Rock & Republic fashion line. Another source adds: "“It’s going to happen in the next three to six weeks." The couple has always planned to be married by early fall, said their rep, and they can't wait. And after a 15-month engagement, neither can I. At first, I actually believed them when TomKat said they were busy planning the nuptials. But now, I think they've just both hopped on the publicity bandwagon and are riding this thing out as long as they can. A word of advice: If you wait until Suri is about 3, then she can be your flower girl. It's perfect!

Suri Cruise: She's Alive

The long, long wait is finally over. Like a good star-in-training, Suri Cruise made her Hollywood debut on the "CBS Evening News" last night. Who would have thought a magazine cover could cause such an uproar, but what a joy when we finally got a glimpse of Tom, Katie and baby Suri, all smiles on the October cover of Vanity Fair. The happy family, captured by famed photographer Annie Liebovitz in July, exudes good 'ole fashion lovin' in - get this - a 22-page photo spread! And mom Katie speaks exclusively. "It's really frustrating the amount of shit that's out there," she says in the magazine. "And the stuff they say about Suri?! You shouldn't say that about us, and you can't say that about my child." Even Tom said that he and his future wife "always planned to release [family photos of Suri] at the right time." Both parents even said they "weren't trying to hide anything." I'm sure they just kept her in seclusion for six months because they didn't want her to get too much sun - nervous parents are like that. Suri must be the most patient of babies to sit through all those snapshots...some babies can't even sit still long enough for a JCPenney portrait. But that's beside the point. I guess all those rumors can finally be put to rest. Yes, she exists. No, she's not deformed. Yes, she looks more like Katie. This big hoopla makes me wonder what Suri will think 20 years from now, when she's head of the Scientologists, and realizes all the attention she got. "Why me?" she'll wonder. I figure her answer to that question will lead her down one of two paths: A SWELLED head, bigger than her daddy's, or logging lots and lots of hours in therapy and on a bunch of antidepressants. Something tells me daddy would rather it be the former. Make sure you pick up the issue, on newsstands next week. I guess a picture really is worth a thousand words. Tom Cruise OFFICIALLY Mends Fences With Brooke Shields

We can all breathe a little easier now. Tom Cruise has officially apologized - in person - to Brooke Shields for his not-so-nice remarks last year about her use of antidepressants to treat her postpartum depression. PEOPLE.com reports Cruise sought Shields out to wish her well. "[Cruise]came over to my house and he gave me a heartfelt apology," Shields said on Thursday's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. "And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened." Shields went on to use words such as "heartfelt" to describe their encounter and that Cruise was "deeply sorry." Is this really the same guy that went on a rampage last year? It seems Cruise is on a new rampage this year to salvage what's left of his image, if there's anything left - the jury's still out on that one. I find it a bit coincidental that he'd apologize just after he was dropped by production company, Paramount. Smooth move, Mr. Cruise. But I say it's too little, too late...but good for Shields for accepting his apology and moving on. I guess now we all know who the bigger person is, don't we? Source

Tom Cruise Apologizes...sort of

Ahh, looks like little baby Suri has brought out the softer side of Mr. Tom Cruise...that is, if she does exist. The ubiquitous star (anyone up for a couch jump?) “realizes he went too far when he bashed Shields” last year for her use of antidepressants, Kathleen Kennedy, Steven Spielberg’s producing partner, told the New York Daily News.

But as all juicy celeb gossip goes, Kennedy changed her tune on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight, saying she couldn’t possibly know Cruise’s innermost feelings.

We know Cruise must be so busy shopping around for the perfect studio house now that he and Paramount have ended their relationship that he didn’t have time to personally apologize or issue his own statement.

And besides, last year’s statements “were misrepresentations of what he [Cruise] actually said,” according to Cruise rep Arnold Robinson.

Tom, don’t feel bad. We’ve all been there. You just get in the heat of the moment and spew out stuff like you did last year: “When someone says (medication) has helped them, it is to cope, it didn't cure anything. There is no science. There is nothing that can cure them whatsoever.”

I see the point…that could mean just about anything. Must take a Scientologist to decode that one. Yikes! But it is nice to know that Cruise’s heart could still be in the right place. It makes me think there’s still a bit of Jerry Maguire in him, and that allows me to sleep at night.

America's favorite couple, Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes were spotted at a restaurant this weekend looking like an old couple. (Source) Meanwhile, Tom Cruise has split from longtime studio and producing partner Paramount Pictures and things between the once mega star and maga movie powerhouse are going straight to the crapper. According to reports, telephones at the major studios were ringing off the hook Tuesday after Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone told TheWall Street Journal that his company's Paramount Pictures unit is ending its 14-year relationship with Cruise's film production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions. Redstone cited the actor's offscreen behavior, which has included the Scientologist's public criticism of antidepressants and his very public courtship of star Katie Holmes, with whom he has an infant daughter.
